Unlocking the Potential: TDCX invests in future women leaders

8 March 2023

Singapore, Mar 8, 2023 — In honor of International Women’s Day, TDCX, Inc. (“TDCX”) (NYSE: TDCX), a high-growth digital customer experience (CX) solutions provider for technology and blue-chip companies, is stepping up its efforts in propelling the growth of female employees across the Group. This initiative is part of TDCX’s broader commitment to the advancement of women – from building a diverse, gender-balanced workplace to cultivating an inclusive culture.

Mr. Chee Gay Lim, Group Chief Human Resources Officer of TDCX, said, “At TDCX, International Women’s Day is more than just a day of celebrating women’s successes; it’s a year-round commitment to empowering women and ensuring that they have opportunities to succeed. This means looking at gender issues holistically and consultatively, particularly in the areas of talent development and promotions."

Championing women leaders

TDCX has long recognized the importance of gender equity and has taken steps to make it a reality. This involves creating a work environment that offers opportunities for both women and men to develop and progress in their careers by providing access to mentorship, leadership development, and implementing fair and transparent pay practices. Such initiatives have led to women making up half (51%) of TDCX’s leadership1.

One woman leader who was recently promoted is Ms. Janice Phua, Senior Director, Client Solutions, TDCX. An industry veteran with more than 26 years of experience, Janice leads most of the operations teams in Singapore and Thailand, ensuring that they deliver on client expectations. She also oversees the management of TDCX’s Singapore campus, ensuring that employees have a welcoming and comfortable work environment.

She is part of TDCX’s coaching and mentoring programs, which offer employees across TDCX the opportunity to be mentored by leaders who are well-known for their vast experience and industry know-how.

Ms. Phua said, “As a certified coach and long-time mentor at TDCX, I've had numerous opportunities to share and expand my knowledge and to explore new ways of doing things. These programs offer a two-way learning process, not only paying it forward to potential women leaders but also helping me grow professionally. These opportunities have been instrumental in helping me achieve career success and developing me as an individual.”

Another women leader, Ms. Nitiwadee Manabut (Sophia), who has been with TDCX Malaysia for more than a decade and is currently the Operations Director of a special project and part of TDCX’s mentoring program, echoed a similar sentiment.

Ms. Sophia said, “Through my experience as a mentor, I have learned about the obstacles that prevent women from being more involved in leadership roles. As a result, I see myself as a support system for female employees to overcome these barriers. I share my own mistakes, how I navigate challenges, and how I balance work and personal life. My goal is to inspire my mentees to embrace their mistakes, trust their instincts, and be true to themselves. I believe that these three factors are crucial for building confidence and maintaining an active leadership role.”

While the coaching and mentoring programs are open to all genders, TDCX encourages up-and-coming female colleagues to participate, with the goal of helping them advance into leadership roles. Since the launch of the coaching and mentoring programs in 2020 and 2021, respectively, TDCX has supported more than 4,000 coachees and mentees across the company, with more than half of them being female employees.
