The role of employee experience in building fulfilling and meaningful careers

8 February 2024

Employee experience (EX), put simply, is everything a person encounters with an employer. This starts right from the first interaction as a prospective employee through their entire lifecycle with the company.

Providing great EX is something that we take pride in at TDCX. We believe that building a strong EX culture not only helps us engage our employees but also enables us to support our people in having fulfilling and meaningful careers. The results also support that, with more than seven in 10 of our employees feeling empowered at work.

How does this lead to better careers for our employees? We chatted with three colleagues who shared their views.

Empowerment to make decisions

Alvin Chan, Training Executive, TDCX, said, “For a recent project, I took the initiative to address a critical issue head-on. I felt truly empowered to make a decision on my own, knowing I had the trust and support of my team and leadership.

The outcome? We not only resolved the problem efficiently but also discovered new opportunities for improvement, reinforcing the value of empowerment in our workplace.”

Manpreet Kaur Gurmit Singh, Senior Quality Analyst Support at TDCX Thailand, said that it is important for her to feel valued and heard in the workplace, and she was able to find that in her manager.

Manpreet said, “Feeling valued and heard in the workplace is important, and I'm fortunate to have a manager who exemplifies this. Their active listening, genuine interest in my ideas, and consistent encouragement to share my perspective make me feel truly valued. I’m truly grateful that I have leaders who believe in empowerment and provide opportunities for me to explore my potential. Knowing that my voice matters fosters a sense of belonging and motivation to contribute my best to our team and allows me to strive to #BeMore continually.”
